Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu is now working on three names for the post of the Speaker of AP Legislative Assembly. Ponnur MLA Dhulipalla Narendra of Guntur, Rayadurgam MLA Kalava Srinivasulu of Anantapur and Etcherla MLA Kala Venkat Rao of Srikakulam districts are those among the list of the names considered for Speaker.
As three of them are seeking ministerial birth Mr Naidu wants to convince them to take up the Speaker post.
A source close to Mr Naidu’s camp said, “It all depends on who is going to get place in Cabinet. If Kala Venkata Rao is not given ministerial birth he will be convinced to take up the Speaker post. Narendra and Srinivasulu are also considered for it.”
Srinivasulu is a journalist-turned-MP and now an MLA. He is a Naidu loyalist. Kala Venkat Rao earlier joined Praja Rajyam and returned to TD again and now an MLA in the recent general elections.
Sources said MLC Yanamala Ramakrishnudu refused to take up the governor post and insisted to be in Mr Naidu’s cabinet.
